Hibiscus Flowers/Hibiscus Sabdariffa
Hibiscus is one of our favorite tea herbs here at Eternity in a Box! Great fruity, bright citrus-like flavor is amazing by itself in a tea or combined with other healthy herbs!
Our Hibiscus is Organically grown and is honestly very much superior to other Hibiscus we’ve experienced…that’s why we chose to carry these Hibiscus flowers here 🙂
This listing is for the Powdered Hibiscus Flowers.
These beautiful flowers originated in Northern Africa and have a long history of use as a food and medicinal. Over the years Hibiscus has been spread all around the world and many different strains can be found growing in warm climates. As a medicine Hibiscus has been used to treat circulatory disorders and respiratory infections. High in vitamin C, Hibiscus has also been used to treat scurvy! Recent studies have shown that Hibiscus may regulate blood sugar and effectively treat metabolic syndrome(an early condition that can lead to heart disease or diabetes), as well as lower blood pressure, lower LDL(bad cholesterol), and raise levels of good cholesterol in the blood. A tea of Hibiscus flowers can help protect the liver, stimulate appetite, reduce fever, and promote healthy skin! Some people use Hibiscus in homemade hair care products(for coloring, and to promote hair growth), lotions, and skin creams(to reduce the effects of aging and protect the skin)which is a great use of our powdered variety!
