Cordyceps is a genus of fungus that includes hundreds of different species, which all share similar qualities. Most cordycep mushrooms are endoparsitoids, which means they rely on parasitic connection with a host in order to grow and thrive. Cordyceps mushrooms are often parasitic to insects and some are parasitic to other fungi. These mushrooms are known to have aphrodisiac qualities and to be helpful with energy-levels and circulation, including helping to oxygenate your blood during exercise, as well as being anti-cancer and helpful for managing blood sugar levels.
Commercially available Organic Cordyceps are cultivated using plant-based growing mediums, rather than harvested from parasitic growth on insects. That’s good, right?
