Milk Thistle Seeds, botanically identified as Silybum marianum, originate from only a small area the Mediterranean, though they’ve been spread throughout Europe and the Western United States where they now grow naturally.
The plant is a relative to Sunflowers and is similarly nutritive, though Milk Thistle also offer strong medicinal properties. Milk thistle has been used throughout history to help strengthen the liver, and it is said to help regenerate liver cells!
These seeds can be chewed and swallowed, ground and consumed in capsules or even made into tea (once ground) or tincture. The best nutritional value will be obtained through the simply consumption of the seeds after a good chewing.
